ABOUT THE ROLE
JOB TITLE: Global Portfolio Development Manager
LOCATION: Hybrid (Milan)
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Permanent
SALARY RANGE: 45K - 65K gross + performance bonus
You will own the health and growth of WeRoad’s global itinerary catalogue. Your twin mission is to (1) optimise performance and availability for every existing itinerary/destination/category and (2) scout, test and scale the next generation of trips and vertical experiences in all our markets.
In this role you will have a strong business orientation, with both strategic and operational vision, ensuring that our portfolio is always aligned with market demands and customer needs. You will be responsible for avoiding overlaps and ensuring the highest website and in destination experience quality for our WeRoaders.
This role is crucial to our evolution towards the marketplace and will help ensure that WeRoad continues to be the preferred choice for travellers seeking authentic experiences, covering all needs, from adventurous trips to more relaxing ones, with itineraries designed for every budget.
We’ll expect in the first 6 months already improvements in:
Overall portfolio conversion rate with a deep focus of bottom‑quartile itineraries
Launch and validated new itineraries that can sustain by 30% of our YoY Growth
Cut test‑to‑live lead time (idea → first booking) from ~12 weeks to < 2 weeks.
Maintain ≥ 85 % seat/bed availability at search across live departures.

What you will do
- Defining the Strategy for new destinations launch:
Use Google Trends, flight route APIs, OTA scraping and social listening to size opportunities worth ≥ € 1 m in sales.
Draft itinerary MVPs internally or with leveraging a pool of external travel designers, launch landing‑page/travel-pages waitlist tests with clear success gates.
Define itinerary experimenting process to quickly validate new itineraries together with performance marketing, sales and A&C community
Scale validated concepts through direct sourcing or contracting with our supply partners.
- Managing and optimizing the Global Product Portfolio
Build clustering models (k‑means, hierarchical, similarity coefficients) to segment itineraries by most important performance attribute and kpis.
Run quarterly “kill / keep / grow” reviews and own the roadmap to improve conversion, margin and availability.
Generate insights dashboards and share recommendations with Marketing, Sales, Supply and Finance.
Scale our vertical itinerary offering by scouting, selecting and onboarding local expert partners that can ensure the best travel experience and our WeRoad quality standards.
Curate and optimize the website category and itinerary content offering, defining itinerary positioning criteria and content standards together with the Content design team
Contributing to the marketplace tech development: You will be involved in the development of the Partner Portal, working with DMCs to enable them to publish their itineraries autonomously on the platform. You will also participate in early testing with DMCs to prepare for the launch of our marketplace.
Communicate roadmap and performance to both leadership and the wider team.
What we are looking for
5+ years in product portfolio management or category management, ideally in travel, OTA or adventure experiences.
Understanding of Market Trends & Customer Needs.
Fluent in SQL (or BigQuery) and comfortable with Python, Looker or Tableau; can own data models end‑to‑end.
Track record of running quick, data‑driven experiments and iterating on product-market fit.
Proven stakeholder management across internal WeRoad teams and external travel producers/supply partners
Performance Tracking and Reporting: Skilled in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive business success.
Entrepreneurial Mindset
Fluent in English, knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
