The role
JOB TITLE: Corporate Development Manager
LOCATION: Milano, hybrid
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Permanent
SALARY RANGE:
Experience of 3-5 years: 40-50K
Experience of 5-7 years: 70-80K
We are looking for a Corporate Development Manager to build and run WeRoad’s acquisition engine end-to-end. You will own the full deal lifecycle: from sourcing and thesis, through valuation, negotiation and due diligence, to signing and post-merger integration. You will work directly with the Chief Strategy Officer, the CFO, the CBO and you will be the person who turns our inorganic growth ambition into closed, integrated deals.
This is a builder role, not a process-administration role. You will define how WeRoad does M&A, run a live pipeline of international targets, and own the outcome.
What you’ll do
Pipeline & sourcing. Build and maintain the target pipeline across priority markets. Map local group-travel and community-travel players, score them for fit, and originate proprietary deal flow.
Deal thesis. For each target, build the investment case: TAM and market entry vs leadership consolidation, strategic fit, community and brand alignment, revenue and cost synergies, quantified.
Valuation & modelling. Build valuation models (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions), define price ranges and deal structures including earn-outs, and pressure-test the return.
Negotiation & structuring. Lead term sheets, structure consideration and founder retention, and drive negotiations to a signable deal.
Due diligence. Run financial, legal, tax, commercial and tech DD with internal teams and external advisors. Surface the risks that change the price or kill the deal.
Integration. Own the entire post-merger plan: brand migration to WeRoad, community merge, supply and ops consolidation, team retention. Hand over to operations with the value case intact.
Process & governance. Build the M&A playbook, the deal committee cadence and the reporting that keeps all stakeholders aligned on the pipeline.
Strategic partnerships: Lead strategic collaborations to fast-track international entry, validate new market product fit, and unlock topline growth.
What we’re looking for
3–7 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or a deal-heavy strategy role – ideally with operating exposure inside a high-growth company.
You have led deals end-to-end and personally closed transactions, not just supported them. You can point to deals you owned from thesis to integration.
Strong valuation and financial modelling skills. You are fluent in comparables, precedent transactions, DCF, and deal structuring including earn-outs.
Commercially sharp. You can read a business model fast, find the synergy, and tell a real deal from an expensive distraction.
You think about integration before signing. You know that the value is created or destroyed after close.
AI-native or AI-embedded profile that can contribute to tech and process integrations, working closely with our tech and ops teams.
Comfortable with ambiguity, speed and a lean setup. You build the process while running the deals.
Excellent stakeholder skills: you can hold your own with founders, advisors, the CEO and the Board.
Fluent English. Additional European languages are a plus.
Willing to travel for sourcing, diligence and integration.
